Hi, Yes you can become a CS. Company Secretaries, in both public and private companies, deal with legal aspects in the management of a company. They co-ordinate with the various departments and advise the Board of Directors and other functionaries about statutory requirements and compliance of company legislation. Company Secretary has been recognized by various enactments as one of the principal officers of the company. A company secretary is solely responsible for carrying out finance, accounts, legal, administrative and personnel functions in addition to his secretarial duties. *As a post graduate you are exempted from 1st stage- A candidate possessing any of the following qualifications or any other qualifications recognized by the Council of the ICSI with the approval of the Central Government as equivalent thereto, is exempted from passing the Foundation examination. A Degree or master's degree in Corporate Secretaryship or Commerce Pass in the Final examination of the Institute of Cost and Works Accounts of India(ICWAI) or the Institute of Chartered Accountants(ICAI) of India or any other Accountancy Institution in India or abroad recognized as equivalent thereto by the Council: Or A degree or master's degree in any discipline other than Fine Arts. *For Executive stage, paper wise exemptions are available on the basis of qualifications under each paper subject to the condition that the candidate should have obtained fifty per cent or more marks in the aggregate in the examination on the basis of which the exemption is claimed.
