Need some information abt GRE and MS in US,

I am doing my B.Sc computer science currently. First I thought of takIng up CAT and get into one of the IIM's. But I realised that I am interested in technical. Also I heard that only a few lucky ones end up with high pay jobs and that too in IIM-A,B,C. Need to know about GRE and life in US univ.
