In a bid to introduce real-life learning to the courses, IIMs are planning to Launch offbeat programs like Learnings from Sports, Three-Continent Master of Global Management, Certificate course on 'Barefoot Manager'. Such courses will give new opportunities to students and will help them develop a perspective. These innovative programs and live interactions will help them understand the real world situations and adapt to challenging circumstances. The purpose of offering this program is to give exposure to students towards innovative concepts altruistic mentoring, performance-based leadership, managing the ups and downs of the game, cross-training, and equipping them with skills beyond their role. Classroom discussions, interactive sessions, panel discussions will also be part of this. It will be facilitated by industry experts and sports personalities from corporate India. The idea of this program came from the two IIM-B alumni, who work for cricketer Anil Kumble owned sports company TENVIC. They have suggested using sports to hone leadership skills as one of their executive management programmes. It has already been implemented in US but it's a first of its kind in India.
