Hi, so basically so there's no such comparison between NIFT and NIFT as in what is better. NIFT and NID both are top design colleges in India, but the courses they offer are not the same. NIFT stands for National Institute Of Fashion Technology which clearly suggests that it's a fashion focused college. NID stands for National Institute of Design and it has a core design focused approach. Hence, you need to find out about the courses they offer and choose according to your interest.

NID is, by far, the best Indian institute for product designing, product concept development, and design innovation, acclaimed globally for design excellence. NID teaches students about design and art, aesthetic sense and extracts of design engineering. It is focused on art, aesthetics and product development.

NID courses are focused on particulars but NIFT courses covered broader study of any field. NID courses will lead you to a specific job, but NIFT can help you to choose multiple job options. NIFT is having minimum 30 seats in all of their courses in 15 centers (presently 15). NID avg.

NID is the one of India's top design school specialising in Idea creation design engineering and product development among the other things NIFT on the other head is premier league concerned with clothing textile garment construction and style among other things.

Please do not waste your money, time, and energy in both these institutes. No matter whatever anyone says, both institutes are just place where faculties' ass is licked, if you are good at it then gi for it but also if you have tons of money to be spend on projects for which you wont be given marks unless you are their favourite. After four years of spending money in these institutes,dont expect to get a good campus placement as their placements cell and criteria is pathetic. They only show you one percent of the scenario of placement and not about the others who didnt get any job.

A friend of mine is working for a very known brand and after work experience of three years he makes only twenty nine thousand after working his ass off.
The faculties are way beyond shallow and wouldnt give a damn about you if you haven't impressed them in the beginning. Even if you perform exceptionally well later, you will be judged on the basis of your previous works and sometimes without even seeing your work,you will be given marks. In jury, they will literally make you cry and even throw your work if you are not their favourite one or just any other hard working student. In external jury, even if the jury members like the work of any student,they are distracted by the internal members by saying that the particular student is average one,so your impression gets formed even before you have explained your work.
The yearly fees for both these institutes are much high as compared to their quality of teaching. I cant comment more on this.
You will find post graduate students in NID who are there more than two years, some even for four years because they havent cared to submit their project as they are having their gala time over there.
NID also has bad reputation in terms of ragging. Freshers are subjected to abusive language and are forced to be present at the time of ragging no matter wherever and which ever condition you are in and most importantly all this is done in campus with faculties' knowing it. You can find news related to ragging on internet and you will get to know the whole scenario.
Whatever I have mentioned here are just the tip of the ice berg. These colleges don't have good faculties nor a decent placement scenario. They were best in their early years but now they have degraded to lowest level.
I wouldn't suggest anyone to join these institutes,there are many other fields where you can achieve and your hard work n talent would be appreciated.

Although both NID and NIFT are famous institutions and have consistently churned out the best minds in fashion and design, let us SEE consider the various aspects of these institutes.
