The St. Xavier's College Ranchi offers admission to the B.A. (Hons.) in Economics course based on the following criteria:
- At least 50% marks in aggregate in Science/Arts/Commerce with at least passed in Mathematics at +2 Level.
- For Arts students, at least 50% marks in Economics in +2/equivalent examination.
- Knowledge of Mathematics is desirable.
Admission is also based on an entrance test, which includes multiple-choice questions on Economics of CBSE XIth & XII level, including Macro Economics, Micro Economics, Indian Economy, Statistics, and Math of CBSE XIIth.
