On what basis selection for JEE is made?

Applicants are selected based on the Amrita Engineering Entrance Exam AEEE 2023 Common rank list secured in Joint Entrance Examinations Mains 2023. However, 70 percent of the seats in each branch are reserved for students with Amrita Engineering Entrance Exam 2022 rank. 25 percent of seats are reserved for students with valid Joint Entrance Examination Mains 2022 scores. 3 percent of seats are reserved for students with valid Scholastic Assessment Test SAT scores. The selection for JEE is made on the basis of the candidate's performance in the JEE Main and JEE Advanced exams. JEE Main is the first level of the exam, which is conducted by the National Testing Agency NTA twice a year. The exam consists of two papers - Paper 1 (for B.E. /B.Tech. Programs) and Paper 2 (for B.Arch/B.Plan programs). The JEE Main exam score is used for admission to various NITs, IIITs, and other government-funded technical institutions. JEE Advanced is the second level of the exam, which is conducted by one of the IITs on a rotational basis. Only the top 2,50,000 rank holders of JEE Main are eligible to appear for JEE Advanced. The JEE Advanced exam score is used for admission to various undergraduate engineering programs in IITs. The final selection for admission to various engineering programs is based on the rank secured by the candidate in the JEE Advanced and JEE Mains exam and the choice of the course and institution made by the candidate during the counseling process.
