    * Functions of an IAS officer broadly include:
    * Collection of revenue and function as Courts in revenue matters. * Maintenance of law and order. * Function as Executive Magistrate. * Function as Chief Development Officer (CDO)/District Development Commissioner. Thank you.

    IAS are given different posts if you become a collector or DM of a district. Your work will be to maintain peace and harmony in a district.

    If you get IAS, then this will be an Administrative Service. So, you have to work okay in departments like district office Ministries etc. They have to maintain peace and harmony in a district. They have full control over a district.
