Very Informative. This is true that we all need to discuss the need of Parallel Colleges, their roles and contributions. Parallel Colleges exists in every state in India. In Kerala, Parallel Colleges are more structured and organized under banner 'Kerala Parallel Colleges Association'. In other states parallel colleges exists in form of unrecognized private colleges, study centres or sub-centres, information centres, guidance centres, training or college program tution centres etc. but are not organized or don't have any association or group as in Kerala. They have been helping tool in spreading education information, counseling people at first level, motivating them to join university degree program in regular or private mode, whichever feasible, providing classes, training and / or guidance and thus promoting education in India. They are economical, compared to regular colleges and reach even small towns and villages. REACHING from big cities to small villages at economical fees has helped even unaware underprivileged poor. And this itself speaks about the contribution of 'Parallel Colleges' to the education growth in India.

Helping student in Admission Form Availability, Form Filling, Enrollment or Registration or Admission, Fees Collection 4. Providing Books, Study Notes, Study Material on CD / DVD, On-Line Educations Materials, On-Line Training, … 5. Helping students in getting I-Cards, Admit Cards or Exam Hall Tickets, Marks Cards or other documents provided by University and distributed directly or through parallel college 6. Guidance, Classes, Practical Sessions, Technical Training, Skill Enhancement like training sessions to improve soft skills, mathematical skills, logical thinking skills, technical skills, organization and management skills, non-technical skills like arts, acting, speech, drama, dance, … 7. Preparing student for examinations through classes, lectures, labs, training, guidance, counseling, … 8. Training leading to job opportunities, employment, self-employment like vocational training, personality development training, management training or other technical or non-technical training 9. Education Seminars, Presentations, Publishing, Exhibitions, Education Events, Education Camps, Placement or Employment Camps, Educational Tours, Historical Tours… 10. WHO CAN BE A PARALLEL COLLEGE Colleges / Institutes / Educational Organizations / Educational Institutions / Classes / Study Centres / Sub-study Centres / Counseling and Guidance Centres / Information Centres / Trusts / Vocational Training Centres / Technical Training Centres / Skill Enhancement Centres / Others educational bodies with similar objectives and functions for preparation or guidance of university programs leading to award of Certificate / Diploma / Degree by any recognized University shall be referred here now onwards as ‘Educational Institution’. Educational Institution, which may or may not be recognized by any university, which may or may not be affiliated to any university, but offers training for courses following the courseware of a university officially or unofficially, may be categorized as a ‘PARALLEL COLLEGE’.
