please confirm the following Query about GRE score??

i wanted to confirm that if i clear GRE in 2012 and keep scorecard with me and apply for MS after 2 years than will my score card have same value eventhough it is valid for 5 years, because i have read somewhere that universities abroad prefer fresh scores rather than scores which are 2-3 year old
