1- Railways- There are many jobs in Indian Railways for Mechanical Engineers the recruitment for which is conducted by Railway Recruitment Board. The list of some important position for Mechanical Engineers are:
2- Banking- Mechanical Engineers can Join Banking sector for various posts such as junior engineer, Bank PO through exams like IBPS PO exam. Probationary Officer is like a Class-I officer & holds the post of lower level management in Public sector banks.

1. UPSC CS
2. UPSC IES
3. IBPS PO
4. Railways
5. GATE for PSUs
6. SSC for JE and AE
7. AFCAT
8. CDS
9. RBI Garden B exam.

After B.Tech, all the Government sector jobs are-
1. Civil service.
2. Indian engineering service.
3. Banking and financial sector. (like-RBI, SBI etc. )
4. Staff selection commission as per the requirements (engineering. Post, JE and undergraduate posts) also eligible for CGL
5. DRDO
6. Indian space research organisation
7. Indian army, NAVY, Indian air force
