You would prefer the area/branch which you are working now. UGC recommends Sections A & B pass students for postgraduate studies in any Indian University. MHRD Notification recognises about 15 courses of Sections A & B Examinations as revised, conducted by The Institution of Engineers (India), 8 Gokhale Road, Kolkata as equivalent to bachelor’s degree in the appropriate branch of engineering of the recognized universities of India. UPSC has recognised AMIE for appearance in UPSC Exams. Ministry of Education and Social Welfare, Government of India’s accepts Sections A and B as equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in the appropriate field of engineering. Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad as well as IIT, Mumbai has recognised Sections A & B passed students for admission to their Postgraduate Programme. The equivalence of AMIE is approved by Board of Assessment, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India, and by The Association of Indian Universities for employment and academic equivalence. Recognition of passing Sections A & B Examinations does not come under the purview of Distance Education Council.
