post graduate study in canada

pursuing B.TECH(ece) n will be looking towards CANADA in coming year for my post graduate studies. Foremost aim is to permanently reside in CANADA. so should i pursue a pg diploma.? Will it help me to gain a job there so dat i can acquire PR. Also taking admsn in masters is comparatively difficult
