Let X = Total Amount of Gold
& Y = Total Amount of Platinum

Given U1 + P1 = U2 + P2. (2)
U1 + U1 = X & P1 + P2 = Y. (3)
Also, given U1 = 3U2
From (2) P2 − P1 = 2U2
Also, X = 4U2 & 2P1 = Y − 2U2
4P1 + 4U2 = 20U2
4P1 = 16U2
U1 : P1 = 3 : 4
