This is a Short Answer type Questions as classified in NCERT Exemplar

Explanation – w'=R=m (g-a)

Mass of person =50kg

Descending acceleration= 9m/s2

Acceleration due to gravity g= 10m/s2

Apparent weight of person R= m (g-a)

= 50 (10-9)=50N

Reading in weighing scale = 50/10 =5kg
