Detailed Solution:

$\frac{l_{1}}{l_{2}} = \frac{4}{1}$

$\Rightarrow l_{m a x} = {(\sqrt[]{l_{1}} + \sqrt[]{l_{2}})}^{2} = l_{1} + l_{2} + 2 \sqrt[]{l_{1} l_{2}}$

$\Rightarrow \frac{l_{m a x} + l_{m i n}}{l_{m a x} - l_{m i n}} = \frac{5}{x}$

$\Rightarrow \frac{1}{2} \times \frac{l_{2} (1 + \frac{l_{1}}{l_{2}})}{\sqrt[]{l_{1} l_{2}}} = \frac{5}{x}$

$\Rightarrow \frac{1}{2} \frac{1}{\sqrt[]{4}} = \frac{1}{x} \Rightarrow x = 4$
