Certain private schools charge an unreasonable tuition fees and provide education standards that could be compared to state boards. But parents still prefer these private schools because they believe that private schools has more infrastructure compared to public schools. I studied at a Kendriya Vidyalaya, which is a public school. I can for sure say that my school had far better infrastructure and education standards than many private schools at a quarter of what these private school charges from students.

Its not always the facilities that matter. Some schools have high facility, infrastructure but only thing that matters is the faculty of the schools. Check out the schools having experienced faculty either private or publuc schools.

    Nice question!
First, I want to ask you all, which institution will you prefer for your higher education? I know you will tell, of course, government institution, have you ever asked yourself, why government institutions are only better for higher education? Why not for primary and secondary level education?
No top institution make good professionals perhaps people make an institution a top establishment, the same rule is applied to the top government institutions, we made IITs as the establishments to look at, we made AIIMS a pioneer institute.

All schools are good. Parents should try to identify the good teachers in the school which they want for their children.

It is a good question. If we are talking about higher education then I think Public school means Government colleges are comparatively better. We see that infrastructure, facilities and other equipment are not so good as in private institutes. But in private institutes, faculties are not so good. Management recruit faculties which are even not qualified. Fees are also high. Teaching and learning atmosphere is also not up to the mark. There are few private colleges which are providing quality education. Today, meritious students also prefer government college, if he/ she gets a good rank.

I believe that private schools are very good, neglecting the high fee and other expenses. In private schools, you get a good exposure, facilities and lots of activities. The public schools, nowadays, are not very good. Teachers don't bother about the students at all.

I think it depends on the student and the management of the school. they can make it or break it. Private schools are better, they nurture children in all manner, like education, extracurricular activities, communication skills, that gives confidence to the student. On the other hand, public school *can* give quality education. last but not the least, every private school wants to increase their level by giving their best to be on top this increases competition and hence the performance of students.

Private schools are good in terms of teaching and training where as in public schools the staffs are least bother about the students. But, in private schools the school runs only because of the students' performance. The number of students getting admission in the next year depends on the previous year's result. The only good thing in public school is the fees is less whereas in private its more.

I agree that qualities of teachers are good in govt. schools but in most of cases either teachers or either students are not interested in study. They know that no one can fire them from their job. Only 10% govt. school teachers are willing to do hard work (my own experience).

    Private schools:
    1. Tuition to enrol.
    2. Funded independently through tuition, grants, alumni, and community.
    3. Does not necessarily have regulations.
    4. Teachers don't necessarily have to be certified.
    5. Flexibility with the curriculum.
    6. Smaller classes.
    7. May not have special education programs.
    Government schools:
    1. No tuition to enrol.
    2. Funded via government and taxes.
    3. Must follow regulations.
    4. Teachers must be state certified or working towards it.
    5. Not much flexibility with the curriculum.
    6. Larger classes.
    7. Have special education programs.

I think all people are entitled to good education. unfortunately, at all levels, Institutions are falling down in Standards. The exceptions are very few. Students are proportionately bad and they lack in motivation. Now, the problem is in overhauling all Institutions.

Private schools may provide more facilities as compared to public schools but the quality of teachers is better in public schools because to seek employment in the public school you need to clear an entrance test unlike most of the private schools.
Hence, the quality of teachers and the reachability is far better for the public schools

    Hi,
Whatever the school maybe, it purely depends on the teaching staffs and the students. The studious and brilliant students always secure high marks wherever they're enrolled. It doesn't depend on which school we are studying; it depends on how we are studying

    Hey Everyone,
I think private schools are better because school administration and management in private schools observes a very strict code. Since individuals run them, the control on the staff and faculties is very much in the hands of the administrators. In public schools, there is a lenient code as both staff members and the head of the institute are under the control of government.

No doubt, private schools are better because according to a number of surveys, in public schools teacher absenteeism is a major issue. Whereas in private schools, teachers are unlikely to remain absent during school days. Student attendance is also better in private schools compared to public schools

    HI All,
The quality of education received by the children in private schools is better than the public schools. This fact has been supported by a number of surveys, researches and various competitive tests where children from both private schools and public schools participate. But some public schools have proved to be equally efficient as that of accredited private schools. Therefore to award private schools full marks in the contest 'Private Schools Vs public schools' would not be totally right.

    Hi,
Public schools are as good as private schools. There may not be as many facilities and exposure, but they are not bad either. Student will get to meet people from different backgrounds.
