M Tech full form is Master of Technology, and the time involved in the MTech entrance exam preparation depends on the person preparing for the same. It is usually preferred to begin with the preparation as early as possible so that most of the syllabus is covered and you also have sufficient time for revision. Ideally, you should start at least 8 to 10 months before the final exam date.

Scoring excellent marks in the entrance test is very important because there is high competition and a limited number of seats across popular colleges.

The difficulty level of the M.Tech entrance tests usually depends on various parameters like the previous year's student response, the number of exam applicants, the estimated number of seats available, and of course, your own preparation. The M Tech exam-conducting body looks at various factors and sets the exam paper accordingly.
However, in general, the entrance for M.Tech like GATE or other state-level exams is considered to be challenging and tricky to crack. You need to really put in a lot of hard work, as it is not going to be a cakewalk.

You should look for some important factors. Like the college ranking, course curriculum, course fee, teaching expertise, infrastructure, placement records, and student popularity.

Once you assess the college on these parameters, you should see which one meets most of these and then take the final call for admission because the college where you pursue the MTech degree will play a key role in your overall career journey ahead. Best of luck.

Yes, extra fee charges do apply apart from the MTech tuition fee at popular Indian colleges, including hostel accommodation charges (if you're an outstation student and staying in the campus hostel), admission application fee, semester exam registration fee, lab work or workshop fee, etc.

You must definitely check the M.Tech fee structure on the official websites of your desired colleges to make the right choice for yourself regarding the college for pursuing an M.Tech degree.
