The exam analysis for NID DAT 2026 exam will be released soon after the exam is over.

As per inputs given by candidates, difficulty level of Part A was moderate and Part B was moderate. Overall, the paper was easy compared to the previous edition. Part A of the question paper includes a number of questions from GK. As for some students, the paper was lengthy. The question paper included one question on perspective drawing, one question on the storyboard, and one question on problem-solving. Considering that the paper was easy compared to the previous year, the cut-off could go higher. Note that if the cut-off goes higher, the candidates will get need better marks to have a good chance of admission.

National Institute of Design - Design Aptitude Test, commonly referred as NID DAT is conducted nationally by the National Institute of Design. The exam comprises of two stages: Prelims and DAT main. The final selection list for admission to BDes and MDes courses is done by assessing weighatge of DAT Prelims and DAT Mains. The exam has moderate to challenging difficulty level. The main aim behind conducting this exam is to assess students design, creativity, observation skills etc. who want take admission in BDes and MDes courses. The difficulty level of the exam vary across different part of the exam. 

NID DAT Prelims for the B. Des programme is a paper-and-pencil/pen exam. The question paper may include both textual and visual questions. The language of the test will be English. Note that the test duration and other details related to the exam will be notified to the candidate through the NID DAT admit card. The candidate must follow previous years ' Prelims question papers to get better insights into the exam pattern, including types of questions asked, marking scheme, and difficulty level.

NID Entrance Exam is considered to be one of the toughest design entrance exam conducted in the country. In NID DAT, more weightage is given to subjective, drawing related questions. Thus, candidates need to be extremely creative and have a clear understanding of their concepts when appearing for the NID exam. In NID DAT for the B. Des programme, the that Prelims carried 40% weightage, while that Mains carried 60% weightage. During the that Mains, which comprises a Studio Test, the candidate will be tested hand-on and have to show their drawing abilities, creativity, innovativeness, and material-handling ability.
