I personally believe that it is the student and his/her score card that actually makes the difference. Even IIM's came to be known for their placement, however, it was their student's score card and confidence at the time of interview that worked wonders. So, if you really want to be placed in a really good job, make sure you make the best utilization of the resources available to you in the present college. You never know, you might become the one who would prove to be a mile stone setter for others. It is therefore advisable to be on the top in the merit. I hope this would suffice. Yes, you can get a college via JEE counseling. But you may or may not get a top college or the course you wish to get. It is difficult to say your rank as it depends on the number of candidates and their scores.
