LPU provides a great academic exposure to its students. It provides a chance to the students to attend guest lectures or workshops, so that they get to learn as much as they can. The students also work on live projects, so that they are able to apply their knowledge to practical settings. It is one of the few that has embraced international practices when it comes to designing a curriculum. The department of urban planning provides innovative comprehensive and cutting-edge skill set and knowledge to create globally competitive urban planners. It endeavors to create a learning environment where students can realize their full potential and experiment and examine the latest theories, trends and issues. The department attempts a holistic approach which includes the socio-economic, physical, cultural and ecological dimensions of urban and regional settlements, and evolving measures to address the issues and emerging challenges in a planned manner. The various career prospects for this programme are Job opportunities in government. As well as private sector, Private consultancy related to site planning, Town and Country Planning Organizations/ Local Bodies, public service commissions of all states, Teaching as assistant professor etc. Some of the companies in this field are Wilbur smith associates, JLL real estate company, Ernst and young company, Feedback ventures, Reliance infrastructure etc. The eligibility criteria for this programme is Pass with 50% aggregate marks in 10+2 (with English and Maths) or equivalent. LPU offers scholarship based on various categories like previous qualification percentages, LPU NEST exam, national level test and many more. Both the universities are good. The Mittal School of Business at LPU is accredited by Accreditation Council for Business Schools and for ensuring quality education and industry-experienced faculty members, studying at LPU will get a degree accredited from a body USA. Placement: Companies like Colgate Palmolive, Hindustan Unilever, Godrej Consumer, Asian Paints, Bajaj Allianz, CEAT, Rallis India, etc. Visit LPU for recruitment purposes. The main thing about placement that I liked there is that LPU provides placement classes to the students from the first year, which helps students prepare for placement until their final year. The highest package offered for the management is Rs. 21 LPA.
