Both IT and Manufacturing are such fields which have never ending industry and the scope is also pretty good but the most important thing which you should keep in mind while choosing any field is your own interests and career aspirations, you should always take up a field which you are passionate about, because that would be the field in which you will able to excel the most. I would also like to add here that the scope of the programme would depend a lot on your own capabilities, performance on the programme and how you use the knowledge earned at the time of job placements.
MS degree generally leads you towards the career in research & teaching so, if your interests lies in these areas or you want to get into jobs like system analyst etc. you can opt for MS programmes.

As there is no neutral regional ranking for Engineering Institutes it would be difficult to name the top 10 Institutes in Coimbatore, However, few of the good Engineering Institutes in the area are:
