After diploma in mechanical engineering you may join lateral B.Tech course and can directly enter into the second year. If you want to work alongside then you may join correspondence course.
List of lateral entry colleges (correspondence) :

If you are very serious about belling the CAT. then you should defiinitely attend CAT preparation classes. before selecting the correct coaching institute do keep in mind that the institute should be reputed have smaller batch sizes and fees should be reasonable.
I will suggest you to take these classes of small duration rather than getting trapped in year long programs>

you havent clearly mentioned about your last exam. do you mean that you have scored 65% in gradutaion with commerce subject.?
