Hi Kartik it is totally foolishness and waste of time and energy to drop a year for IIT-JEE. It is 100% fact that IIT-JEE is the best and most reputed engineering degree in India. But, it does not mean that if you do engineering from any other college in India you will not get success. Do not waste time and start your engineering this year only. It is a 4 year degree course. So, do not make it 5 years. But, before taking admission in any college or university please check whether it is UGC recognized, AICTE approved and talk to the passout previous year students.
