Some GATE papers are conducted in multiple shifts, and the difficulty level of the paper may vary for different shifts. In such case, the GATE conducting authorities use the normalisation method to make it fair for everyone. The difference between the GATE actual marks and normalised marks is as follows -

GATE Actual Marks 

• The GATE actual marks are calculated out of 100 for 65 questions

• For each correct answer, 1 or 2 marks will be awarded.

• For incorrect responses, 1/3 or 2/3 marks are deducted.

• No marks are deducted for numerical aptitude questions (NAT) and multiple select questions (MSQ).

GATE Normalised Marks

• The GATE conducting authorities use the normalisation method to calculate the GATE marks.

• The normalisation is done based on the fundamental assumption that in “all multi-session GATE papers, and the distribution of candidate’s abilities in all the sessions.

The admission process for the NLSAT (National Law School Admission Test) typically involves the following steps:

• Online Registration: Candidates need to register online by filling out the application form on the official NLSIU website. This usually includes personal details, educational background, and contact information.
• Payment of Fees: After completing the registration, candidates must pay the application fee, which can often be done through various online payment methods.
• Submission of Documents: Candidates may need to upload required documents, such as educational certificates, identification proof, and photographs, as part of the application process.
• Admit Card Issuance: Once the application is processed, eligible candidates will receive an admit card, which they must download and bring to the exam center on the day of the NLSAT.
• NLSAT Examination: Candidates will sit for the NLSAT on the scheduled date, which assesses their aptitude through various sections like reasoning, comprehension, and general awareness.
• Result Declaration: After the exam, the results will be published on the official website. Candidates can check their scores and ranks.
• Counseling and Admission: Based on the NLSAT scores, candidates will be called for the counseling process. This may include document verification and selection of courses or programs.
• Final Admission: After successful counseling, candidates will complete the admission process by submitting any remaining documents and paying the necessary fees to secure their place.

DIT University offers good and standard packages to students. As per the latest report, the participating recruiters offered over 1,450 job offers to the students of the batch 2024. The highest package offered at DIT Dehradun in 2024 stood at INR 58 LPA. Earlier, over 270 recruiters participated in the placement process 2023 at DIT University and presented over 1,270 job offers to the students of Class 2023. The highest package package offered during DIT University placements in 2023 was also INR 58 LPA.

DIT University BTech is a four-year course divided into eight semesters at the UG level. The UG-level course is offered across different specialisations. Some of the specialisations in which the course is offered are Computer Science Engineering, Information Technology, Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, etc. The university also offers lateral entry to BTech courses. The university admits candidates to the BTech courses based on JEE scores/merit in Class 12.

Admission to the BTech course is based on the JEE Main score or Class 12 marks. After completion of the selection rounds, the university releases a merit list to announce the names of the shortlisted candidates. The shortlisted aspirants are called for counselling and document verification. It also offers direct admission to the Class 12 toppers (10% seats). Aspirants need to pay a course fee to confirm their seat in the university. 

Apart from this, the selection criteria for BTech Lateral Entry is merit-based counselling on Diploma/BSc Percentage /UKSEE Score.

Yes, scholarships to the candidates of SC/ ST/ OBC of Uttar Pradesh and also to the students of unreserved categories having family income less than INR 2 lakh annually are provided under various schemes of  Govt. of UP.

NLU Lucknow also provides the Central Sector Scholarship Scheme of Top Class Education for SC/ST Students. Under this scheme, five eligible students of the SC/ST category are provided scholarships which include reimbursement of full tuition fee, living expenses of INR 2,220 per month, books & stationery of INR 3,000- per year and computer/accessories up to INR 45,000 per year per student.
