More than 42 thousand management aspirants from Maharashtra and around 11 thousand of aspirants from rest of India took the MAHCET-MBA/MMS entrance test on March 15 & 16, 2014 for admission in B schools across Maharashtra. This was the first MAHCET after a gap of one year as there was no admission test in 2013 conducted by DTE Maharashtra due to legal issues and CMAT played the role of MAHCET in admission 2013. It is a common query among the students regarding what course should they pursue,which line should they go and which will fetch them with better prospects and opportunities.For all,it has to be kept in mind that in modern world there is value for every course and along with that there is scope of all the professional courses.But what can lead an individual to the height of success is the efficiency and the grasp of the candidate on the concerned subject.

Selection Procedure is as follows
1.) Candidates will be shortlisted based on MBA entrance exam scores,SOP, Quality of work experience and Quality of education. The candidates will be informed via mail only. No calls or postal mails.
2.) Interview date and time and location will be specified (location will be whatever you have specified/preferred whereas date and time will be random)
3.) Interview will start with a small talk by the dean.
4.) Next candidates will be asked to write an essay on a topic given then and there. No reference in whatever means is allowed, paper will be provided and usually a time of 15-20 minutes will be given
5.) After the essay all the candidates will have to face an interview, which will be taken by the seniour faculty themselves (no elimination after essay round)
6.) That's all

Rishabh, I am not sure which course you are looking at. Design is a field that is age old and has been evolving every year like science. Sometimes student Artists are too much enamoured by Fine Arts preventing them to look objectively at Design. They must read this http://bit.ly/SXc9GD. Again like science it pays to be at the cutting edge. For e.g. science students do better if they go for CS or IT since that are areas where development is taking place rapidly. Similarly in Design the cutting edge areas are UID/ UXD, 3D Printing, Immersive Technology, Augmented Reality, 3D Projection etc, besides of course Game Design and Animation. Of course at the top of the pile lies Concept Designing (usually reserved for writers and visionaries) - these people are required by Event Companies, Animation Studios, VFX Studios, and of course Game Studios. At this stage, you may want to understand the creative world and the careers it offers. There are many careers for the creative/ artistic people. Interiors, textile as well as Web Design rely on the same skills - your layout skills and color sense. Journalism also is at this level and relies on your language skills and knowledge of history and current affairs. A little higher perches Graphic Design, Fashion Design, jewellery design, Acting, and Fine Arts which rely on one of your artistic skills - sketching and imagination. At a similar level perches VFX as well as Motion Graphics which rely on one of your artistic skills - Cinematographic skills and imagination. Then come careers like Animation, Film Making, Game Design which rely on multiple talents like your authority over sketching, acting, direction, voice, sound, writing, storytelling and problem solving skills etc. Any extra skill can be used in this. So it turns out to be one of the most challenging as well as satisfying careers. Sure not recommended for the weak hearted. Do remember that digital design careers (e.g. web design, graphics, UI design, animation, vfx, multimedia) give better profits since they can be delivered anywhere in the world and hence may earn in dollars - resulting in better rewards for designers.
