You should wisely decide stream of your graduation. Graduation in Science, agriculture, forestry, engineering is required for appearance in forest rangers exam in most of the state. B.Sc. In Agriculture would be a good choice and preparation from day 1 of this exam. You can analysis a forest ranger exam notifcation to get better understanding and understanding of exam pattern.

Yes, you can go for diploma course in mass communication after 12th from any stream as you can go with professional courses like mass communication by interest and skill, it doesn't need any particular stream.

It also depend on interest of subject but subject like History, Geography, Economics, Potical Science are more favourable specially in context of pre part for UPSC. There are few basic thing like regulatory, clearity and continuity for getting success in UPSC.
