Design Aptitude Test Prelims
Interested candidates need to appear for the Design Aptitude Test (that) Prelims conducted by the National Institute of Design. Design Aptitude Test Mains
Shortlisted candidates will be called for Design Aptitude Test (that) Mains based on marks obtained in that prelims. Merit Screening
Admission is based on marks obtained in Design Aptitude Test Prelims (that Prelims) and Design Aptitude Test Mains (that Mains). Merit list of the overseas (supernumerary) category, will be prepared after all the stages of the admission process have been completed. Only those candidates with the score of 40% and above will be eligible for the admission. Seats remaining vacant in the overseas (supernumerary) category will lapse and will not be transferred to candidates from any other category. Weightage given to above-mentioned parameters is as follows:
that Prelims - 30%
that Mains - 70%. .

The merit list for admission to the course is usually prepared on the basis of the candidates performance in a relevant qualifying examination and entrance exam. General weightage is given to both the score obtained in the entrance exam, and to the score obtained in the last qualifying examination. The round of written test is often followed by subsequent rounds of Group Discussion and Personal Interview.
