To apply for courses at the University of Tennessee, you will have to become a VIP (Vol-in-progress). For this, students can fill in the Go Vols application or the common application. The process to fill the GO Vols application and apply for undergraduate/postgraduate courses has been given below:

Step 1: Visit utk.edu/admissions and click on the ‘Apply now’ button to open the Go Vols registration portal

Step 2: Enter your name, email ID, and birthdate to register to become a vol-in-progress. Once done, click on ‘continue’ and enter the PIN sent to you by the university on email. Set your new password at the next step and become a vol-in-progress.

Step 3: Click on ‘start new application’ and select your application type, i.e., ‘International Freshman’.

Step 4: Now, the form has various sections that need to be filled. Start by providing immigration information, family introduction, academic history, and other details.

Step 5: Once you pay the application fee, upload your signature and review your Go Vol form before submission.

Step 6: Select your course and wait for approval from Tennessee.

• IUMS: IUMS (International Undergraduate Merit Scholarship) includes an award of USD 5,000-8,000 in a year. An international student who does not hold dual citizenship is eligible to receive this scholarship.
• International Volunteer Scholarship: This scholarship is offered to incoming first-year international students at Tennessee. Students who are not a resident of the US and have not completed their high school from the US are eligible for this scholarship. International students should have a minimum GPA of 3.8 during previous education/courses. Also, they should have applied for admission to the university by the early May to get this scholarship.
• International Tennessee Explore Scholarship: It is given to international students with a minimum of 3.6 GPA and who do not hold citizenship in the US.
• International Beacon Scholarship: It is awarded to exemplary first-year international students who have not presented ACT or SAT scores for admission to the university. This scholarship demands a minimum converted and weighted core GPA of at least 3.8.
• Global Ambassador Scholarship: This scholarship is given to incoming freshman international students at Tennessee. A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required to be eligible for this scholarship. To keep receiving the Global Ambassador Scholarship every semester, students will have to maintain a GPA of 3.0 each semester.
