MBA are generally full time and part time. Full time generally take 2 years and part time can take from 3-4 years. They also have the option of taking on concentrations in areas such as finance, marketing, entrepreneurship, etc., in addition to core general business classes.
EMBAs, in contrast, are generally more lock step. They are focused on core general business classes and generally lack a concentration. EMBAs conclude in about 2 years. They usually allow for full time work schedules (maybe taking every other Friday off, for example) while you take the EMBA. EMBA students generally have more work experience than MBA students, thus are older, the average age being 32 to 38 years old. Some also say that EMBA classes are not as deep as the average MBA class, but I would beg to differ. The classes are faster pace, but all the same material is covered.
