Right after independence of India we have two types of universities, one that offers degrees in many fields like Sciences, Arts, Education and Engineering too, and the second set of universities (were named as institutes) offer only degrees in engineering. Dear Abishya,
A good GRE score is usually above 310. Though IELTS is also accepted, take TOEFL instead of IELTS if you want to study in US. A score of 100 in TOEFL is required. If you decide to take IELTS still an overall score above 6.5 is recommended. Please note that the admission requirements vary from university to university so you must visit the university websites to check the requirements before applying . Hope it helps.
