Job Prospects of cinematographer:
Bollywood without skillful cameraman is like a life without a soul. They are meant for each other. Without efficient cameramen, film cannot create wonder. As Bollywood is growing by leaps and bounds, so is the need for the cameramen. The statistics of a recent research by the U.S. Bureau of Labour Statistics reveals that the job prospects for cameramen will grow in the least by 11 per cent in the coming years. With the recent upsurge of broadcasting news via internet the need of cameramen has increased manifold.
Your camera can serve many purposes. It completely depends upon you to make your choice. You can choose between music videos, TV shows, News channels, documentaries etc. You can also become a video or a film editor if you are in good terms with your camera. You just need to understand that what interests you the most. If you are good at understanding the key concepts of our society and want to present it on a larger scale you can try starting with documentaries. All you need to do is get accustomed to different lenses and angles. You need to understand the psychology of the viewers- the PERSPECTIVES in particular.
There are different work conditions for every cameraman. You may be required to work in a studio, or outside broadcasts or at the location.
