Easwari Engineering College (EEC) in Chennai boasts of a reasonably active placement cell and there is a wide array of firms that visit the campus each year within the IT services, software product, core engineering, consulting and analytics fields.

• Companies that typically pay visits: The recruiters that are leading in terms of numbers in the IT and software sectors are TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Cognizant, HCL, IBM, Capgemini, and Accenture. Companies that are product based and tech like Amazon, Zoho, Goldman Sachs and Cisco, have also been hiring students in the past few years, although they tend to provide more perks to the best performers.
  In the case of core engineering branches, companies such as L&T, Ashok Leyland, TVS, Renault Nissan, and some small/medium manufacturing companies are involved in such cases according to vacancies. Specialised jobs are also attended to by airlines, testing labs as well as industrial service companies.

• Average Package: The average or a normal student has a package of ₹4-6 LPA. It's the service companies that are the primary providers of this. In the case of CSE, IT and ECE students, the average could be slightly bigger because of a greater number of software-based jobs.
  Recent placement reports show the median salary as being approximately 5-5.5 LPA. Branches of core-engineering could experience a slightly decreased average.

• Highest Package: Some students are offered good offers at product based companies. Currently the top package is approximately 4050 LPA but this is generally extremely rare and only comes with outstanding performance

• Placement Rate: EEC usually records 85 percent to 95 percent placement among qualified learners, particularly in IT oriented fields. Core branches have fewer offers, nevertheless, the rate of placement is high because of campus-wide recruitment drives.
