The admission for short-term courses is open throughout the year whereas for long-term courses, the admission is conducted twice in a year (January & July). The admission process for these programmes is mentioned below:

• NIELIT Shillong admission is based on the merit of the previous qualifying degree/exam
• The application mode is completely online

Candidates wishing to secure a seat in the institute must visit NIELIT Shillong's official website to learn more. 

Candidates are required to have basic documents such as their high school marksheets. Candidate must have an Aadhar card while filling the application form. In the absence of Aadhar, the candidate may submit the following official IDs:

• Enrolment number of UIDAI (EID)
• Bank account (passbook with photo)
• PAN card
• Valid passport
• Valid driving license
• Valid photo ID card of student issued by school/college authority

NIELIT Shillong does not require an entrance exam score for admission.  Admissions are made based on merit. The registration form must be filled by applicants in order to be admitted to the institute. Applications are being accepted for a number of Certification programmes for the 2025 admissions season. 
Before submitting an application for the course, candidates must review the eligibility and selection criteria.

Certificate course in Office Automation and Soft Skills: INR 9,550

Certificate Course in Financial Accounting Using Tally: INR 7,250

BCC: INR 4,318

No, three-year undergraduate degrees are not offered at NIELIT Shillong. The institute only provides certification programs and certificates in the following areas: IT, programming, computer applications, etc. Interested candidates can apply to the course by completing the registration form, providing the necessary information, and paying the application fee. The institute is now accepting applications for the 2025-26 session.
