1. Higher study options after B.COM-
LLB
M.Com
CA or CRISIL Certified Analyst Program
MBA
2. If you are determined that you want to go for Civil Services - MBA might appear to be a waste of time. I beg to differ, I feel MBA provides you a great personality and a very open way of looking at things. It makes you appreciate quite a few aspects of life which you would have never seen if you don't go through a professional degree.
Take a wise decision.
3. MBA is a much more narrowed degree that permits students to specialize in a number of majors such as Finance, Marketing, and International Business etc. The focus is more on the Accounting and finance aspect in M.Com.
4. MBA and M.Com are both exceptional courses. It cannot be said which is better than the other as both the course have it own pros and cons. It is up the each student to decide upon, which course is better according to their career goal and interest.

Indian and World Geography - Physical, Social, Economic Geography of India and the World
Indian Polity and Governance - Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights Issues, etc
Economic and Social Development Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector initiatives, etc
General issues on Environmental Ecology, Bio-diversity and Climate Change - that do not require subject specialization
General Science
Paper II-
Comprehension
Interpersonal skills including communication skills;
Logical reasoning and analytical ability
Decision-making and problem-solving
General mental ability
Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude, etc.) (Class X level), Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc. - Class X level)
English Language Comprehension skills (Class X level)

*Preparing for UPSC requires combination of smartness and hard work. Do the right things to gain an edge over your competition:
*Get the right books for Prelims
*Start preparing at least 10 months before
*Solve past year questions to test yourself on regular basis
*Cover the scoring sections early
*Cover the syllabus strategically. Don't go for a "prepare all" approach for UPSC prelims
*Balance paper 1 and 2
