Hi,
If the field was optional in the form when you have registered for JEE Mains then there is no problem in leaving that field empty and if you want to fill that field again then JEE gives you second chance to correct some details in the upcoming months so please regularly check JEE Mains official website. From there download their information brochure and also read from the FAQ section which could clear most of your doubts. There they have mentioned that time when they would give the second chance to the students who want to correct their details.
