The syllabus for the PhD program will depend on the subject opted for by the student. Note that the PhD program is available in almost all the major disciplines, including - Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Bio-Sciences, Clinical Research, Zoology, Applied Sciences, Economics, Social Work, Literature, Arts, Psychology, and Social Sciences.

The student will get around 3-5 years to complete their PhD programme. At the end of the program, the student will have to submit an original research thesis on a particular topic. 

The research paper may include topics like:

• Introduction to the subject
• Research Design
• Research Foundation
• Quality Standards
• Measuring Structure and Size

• Any MSc/MTech/MVSc or equivalent degree/Integrated BS-MS/BE/BTech in any discipline of biotechnology; MSc/MTech in bioinformatics or computational biology; students admitted under DBT - supported postgraduate teaching programmes
• MSc in life science/bioscience/zoology/ botany/microbiology/biochemistry/biophysics; and Master’s in allied areas of biology or life sciences; Candidates appearing for final year examinations also eligible to apply
• The candidate should get 60% marks for General, EWS & OBC category, and 55% for SC/ST/differently abled in aggregate (or equivalent grade)
• The Age limit should be 28 years for General and EWS category (relaxed up to 5 years for SC/ST/differently abled/women candidates, and up to 3 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates) as on the last date of application

 Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (IGDTUW) is recognised by the UGC and is a member of the Association of Indian Universities.
