There are a total of 75 seats for BTech CSE programme at IIIT Surat. Candidates must qualify teh JEE Main exam to scure the CSE seats. Later, candidates are required to participate in the JoSAA counselling rounds. Candidates who are eligible are allotted wuth BTech seats. Candidates must pay the institute based cousre-fee and finalise their seats in the IIIT Surat.

To be eligible for IIIT Surat's BTech programme, a candidate must pass Class 12 from a recognised board with Mathematics and Physics as compulsory subjects and one out of Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational as an optional subject with a minimum of 75% aggregate.

IIIT Surat offers only one UG programme, BTech in two specialisations, CSE and ECE and a PhD course.

Aspirants must apply for JEE Main exam and appear for the same. Candidates with a valid JEE score are called for JoSAA counselling following which seat allotment is done. There is no such provision for direct admission to the BTech programme at IIIT Surat. IIIT Surat accepts admission for the BTech programme based on a valid rank in JEE-Main. Candidates aspiring to take admission to the BTech programme at IIIT Surat must take the JEE-Main exam conducted by NTA by filling out the its application form through JEE official website. Candidates having JEE-Main rank above the closing rank specified in the merit list released by the college can apply for the counselling process where they can fill their branch preferences followed by document verification and fee payment.

B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering at IIIT Surat costs INR 832500. Apart from the tuition fee, there is a one-time admission fee of - INR 12000, and a hostel fee of amount INR 325000 that students are required to pay. The course offers admission to 90 students. 

A students can take admission up to 2 courses simultaneously, either through distance mode or a combination of distant and regular mode.
