Software Engineering as a career has a demand for software engineers across the industries. Plenty of job opportunities are available for software engineers in a lot of software companies in India. Software Engineering is a sector which is very competitive and hectic but it’s a lucrative career option. For fresher’s software engineers are probable to test and confirm ongoing designs.

Eligibility:
The minimum eligibility to pursue Bachelors in Software Engineering is to pass the higher secondary school certificate (10+2) examination with science subject such as biology, maths and chemistry. For IITs, It is mandatory to qualify in the Joint Entrance Examinations (J.E.E). The duration for this course is 4 years.

Ismail, You can also consider Web Design and Development (PHP). Usual Web Design course at Arena is 12-15 months on normal track. The course is called GWDD. Through this you'll be equipped for PHP based opensource website integration, UI Design, LMS, Mobile Gaming etc besides Web Design and Flash Animation and Apps at the end of this period. This would ensure that you're ready for web design and development (the career you're looking at right now) as well as many more career options that the future holds for the design fraternity. So you would not miss out when the growth starts with mobile gaming and LMS. If you are interested to learn elsewhere, you may look for courses similar to this. Internationally too, you must go for Programs that have UID/ UXD as their mainstay. Alternatively you can go for a longer course which has design alongwith animation. Rajesh, I am not sure how good you are with maths and programming. If you are, then you must pick up a language whether PHP/ HTML5 (web dev), .Net (for software dev) Java/ Android (for apps) or C#/ Unity (for games). However like i mentioned, you must be good with programming to move ahead in this area since you have to compete with MCAs and BTech(CS) applicants. So choose your internship/ industrial training very carefully. Do not just go for the cheapest to save money. See the IT company's credentials on the net. for example if someone provide LIVE PROJECTS are they there near the TOP on PORTALS like JUSTDIAL? Or if the company is registered with STPI (Software Technology Parks of India) - all good IT companies are lregistered with STPI. If a company spends money to market themselves to customers, only then they are able to get LIVE PROJECTS. Also, if you are an average programmer, and if you you're better with creative work, then you can head for web design or even vfx/ animation since there is a huge requirement coming up in that domain. There is also an intermediate path in games design and development. Wish you the best for your career.
