The entrance exam which scores is accepted by IHM Lucknow is the National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology Joint Entrance Examination (NCHMCT-JEE). It's a national-level exam conducted by the NCHMCT for admissions to M.Sc. programs in various IHM institutes across India.

IHM doesn't consider any other exams like CAT, MAT, or GMAT for M.Sc. admissions. They solely rely on the NCHMCT-JEE score for assessing the candidates' aptitude and knowledge for the program.

So, it is very important to have a good score in the exam.

Firstly, a bachelor's degree from a recognised university or institution. A minimum of 50% for general category and 45% for SC/ST/OBC category in 12th. The cut-off marks in NCHMCT-JEE exam could be around 172 rank for general category and could be lower than the general category, like in the range of 100-150 rank for SC/ST/OBC. The actual cut-offs could be higher or lower in the upcoming years.

So, preparing well for the exam is quite important.

Scoring 60% in class 12th is pretty decent, but it doesn't gurantee an admission solely on the basis of 12th marks. It also depends on your National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology Joint Entrance Examination (NCHMCT-JEE) score. Class 12th marks serve as an eligibility criterion only. Many IHM institutes, including IHM Lucknow, have a minimum eligibility requirement of 50% in Class 12th for General category and potentially lower for reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC).

So, focus in excelling in the entrance exam to increase your percentage chance of being selected.

A 75th percentile in NCHMCT JEE is commendable. It also puts you in a nice position for securing a B.Sc seat at IHM Lucknow. But, surely it doesn't gurantee you an admission because it also depends on other factors. Generally, the cut-off for general category can often be above the 75th percentile but, it can vary depending upon the number of applicants and availability of seats. If you apply in later rounds, the cut-off might be slightly lower. Additionally if there is an interview conducted, then performance in the interview also matters.

Firstly, it is very important to have a bachelor's degree from a recognised university or institution. A minimum percentage of 50% aggregate (for general) and 45% aggregate marks for (SC/ST/OBC) in your 12th is required. You should also clear the NCHMCT-JEE exam.

The application process for IHM Lucknow M.Sc usually starts in March/April, and the exam is conducted in May/June. There also may be an additional personal interview round conducted by IHM Lucknow itself.

IHM Lucknow is the "best" in Lucknow. It is ranked 6th among the top hotel management colleges in India and 1st in Uttar Pradesh by IIRF in 2023.

It offers good placements rates and attracts top recruiters like ITC, Taj, Leela, etc. It includes the modern facillities, well-equipped labs, and much more. The professors are experienced and qualified to deliver knowledge at its best. If offers B.Sc and M.Sc programs to cater the students the best.

So, IHM Lucknow is great choice overally.

The minimum cutoff for B.Sc at IHM Lucknow 2023 would depend on various factors like the category, and rounds. So, the cut-offs can also change slightly across different admission rounds. Based, on previous year results, the minimum cut-off at IHM Lucknow:

• General Category: Around 1300-3423 rank.
• SC/ST/OBC: Could be lower than the General category,  possibly in the range of 700-1200 rank.

The actual cut-off for 2024 admissions might be higher or lower depending on the number of applicants, difficulty level of the NCHMCT-JEE, and availability of seats.

Most of the IHM programs require at least 50% in 12th. So, for IHM Lucknow a 70% in 12th is already above the baseline. But, it doesn't gurantee an admission, as there are other factors like NCHMCT-JEE score which is very important to determine the rank, which is essential for securing admission. 

The cutoffs also vary across categories like General, SC, ST, OBC etc. So, focus on performing well in NCHMCT-JEE which would definitely help in getting into IHM Lucknow.

The placement rate at IHM Luckow pursuing Bsc, is around 70-75% in recent years. The average ranges around INR 2-3 Lacs per annum.

Whereas, the placement rate at IHM Lucknow pursuing Msc, can be comaprable or even slightly a bit higher. The average could range from INR 3-4 Lacs per annum.

So, a M.Sc at IHM Lucknow could be better in terms of placements and can lead to higher salaries and sepcialized roles, but require more effort to secure placement than Bsc because it is potentially easier initial placement.

IHM Lucknow is older and more established than IHM Dehradun. This is one of the prime reasons of IHM Lucknow's strong industry network and reputation over the years. 

Looking up some statistics, the highest package offered during IHM Dehradun placements was INR 3.5 LPA, whereas for IHM Lucknow the highest package stood at INR 4 LPA. Based on the data, IHM Lucknow appears to have a slight edge over IHM Dehradun in terms of better placements due to its more engaged network in the industry.

India Today recognised the Institute of Hotel Management Lucknow as the eighth HM Institute for 2020. The institute has made available its preliminary placement report for the class of 2021, of which 221 job offers have been made thus far.

In the 2021 placement drive, all students received job offers, with the highest compensation at INR 3 LPA and the lowest at INR 1.95 LPA.

Prominent employers such as Rebel Foods, Oberois, Praxis, JLL, and Dominos took part in the 2021 placement campaign.

There are 300 places available in total for the IHM Lucknow B.Sc course. This is in accordance with the information on the official website. Furthermore, the government's regulations on seat reservations are adhered to. To obtain comprehensive information about the policies regarding reservation and seat allocation, candidates may also contact the admission office at IHM Delhi.

Usually, direct admission at IHM Lucknow is not possible, since admissions are entrance-based. However, candidates may apply for direct admission to some percentage of seats if they remain vacant after counselling. Candidates willing to take admission must ensure fulfilling the eligibility criteria. 

I recognize that selecting which IHM to pursue presents a difficulty for many of you. But trust me, in three years, your accomplishments will be the only thing that count.

This course offers you many, many opportunities to develop your skills and become a multi-skilled individual, but only if you put in the work.

Decide which one corresponds to your rank. It'll be good if you get Lucknow; if not, Dehradun would be equally fine.

I've personally seen both of them produce competent grads in hospitality. And not just any of the IHMs you mention, but those tendency.
