Sana, I feel sad to mention that the scope of Technical writers is not rosy at least in India. It is a new field and not many really understand what actually iy is about. People mistakenly attached it with writing capabilities where-as the fact is that it is more concerned about a persons' technical knoweldge, communication skill and ability to listen to others. The scope, if any are in the metro cities only where presentation, technical meetings, seninars etc go on. Few large organizations feel the need to exhibit their product details through technical writers. Sana, if you want to become a technical writer you get trained in it and become so , but I would suggest that you keep this as an alternative or parallel career.

No Ashish, it is always the regular mode of education which is better in all ways and rightly given higher weightage also. However distance education is gainful under the circumstances where-in a person could not do a course earlier when his regular education was going on or when he/she is in a hurry to get employment because of the family or other cisrcumstances. S distance education is primarily for people who have had some relevant work exprience. In my view it is not for freshers at all. Regular mode of education is better becaue by its conventional system it gives poortuity to each student to grasp the knowledge gradually and in a better manner and the student is always in touch with the teacher to get the educational doubts clarifired. Regular mode of education gives more time to understand the subject and keep the student more focussed on the education.
