JOB ORIENTED AVIATION COURSES TO DO AFTER 12th
1. B.A. IN AIRPORT MANAGEMENT
I've already written articles on B.A. Course. It is a 3 years long Undergraduate management programme. The good news is that many B.A. Programs allow students to specialize in certain area/discipline. In our case, it is a programme that focuses on the running and management of an Airport. If one is keen on improving one's qualifications, then he/she may also go for an M. B.A. Degree after completing this B.A. Programme. B.A. In Airport Management trains students to take on Managerial and Administrative posts in an Airport. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Students from any stream, who have passed 12th standard board examinations are eligible to pursue this course. Minimum marks criteria exist, but it varies from one Institute to another. Usually, it is around 50% marks. SCOPE, SALARY AND JOB OPPORTUNITIES
After completing the course, graduates may get hired at major International or Domestic Airports. Average starting salary is usually between 3-6 Lacs Rupees per year. Job roles available are- Airport Manager

2. Diploma IN GROUND STAFF AND CABIN CREW TRAINING
This Diploma course is aimed at training students to take on roles of Air Hostess, Steward on Flights. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Students who have passed 12th standard board examinations (any stream) are eligible to pursue this course. Both male and female students may pursue this programme. SCOPE, SALARY AND JOB OPPORTUNITIES
Successful candidates may take on various roles such as- Flight attendants, Part of Ground staff, Office operator etc. Starting salary is generally between 4-6 Lacs Rupees per year. Some job posts available are- Air Hostess

3. B.Sc. AVIATION
B.Sc. In Aviation is a 3 years long Undergraduate Degree programme. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Students who have passed 10+2 board examination (with Physics and Mathematics subjects) from a recognised board are eligible to pursue this course. Minimum marks criteria may exist in case of many institutes (around 50% marks, may vary from one institute to another). SCOPE, SALARY AND JOB OPPORTUNITIES
Graduates will be able to find a job at Airports. Diverse job opportunities are available in front of Aviation graduates. They may take on technical jobs such as Air traffic control, Safety management, and technical ground operations. They may also take on management related jobs.

The Aviation sector has been providing numerous job opportunities to graduates in India. In the past, in case of India, there were't many courses that focused on the aviation sector and groomed students to take on roles in that sector. I will list some of the best Aviation field related courses, which students may pursue after finishing either their 12th standard or graduate.
1- B.A. IN AIRPORT MANAGEMENT

2- Diploma IN AIRPORT MANAGEMENT
This is a Diploma course that lasts 1 year and focuses solely on the area of Airport Management. While it does a better job in dealing with the technical details, when compared to B.A. Programme, I must also admit that this Diploma Degree does't possess as much value as the B.A. Programme does.
3 - COMMERCIAL PILOT TRAINING
Among the many jobs that the Aviation sector provides, this one has to be the most glamorous as well as rewarding one! But Commercial Pilot training is very costly! On the other hand, once finished, this course will ensure that you land a well rewarding job!
4- Diploma IN GROUND STAFF AND CABIN CREW TRAINING
This Diploma course is aimed at training students to take on roles of Air Hostess, Steward on Flights.
5- Diploma IN AVIATION HOSPITALITY has become an indispensable element, no matter what Industry we are dealing with. The course duration is 1 year. Important subjects covered in this course are-

B.Sc in Aviation is a 3 years long Undergraduate Degree programme. This course covers topics such as Air Regulations, Navigation, Meteorology, Aircraft and Engine, Air Traffic Control etc.
8 - Diploma IN AIRFARE AND TICKETING MANAGEMENT
This course will suit those who want to take up a ground duty job. It is a Diploma certificate course. Course duration could be anywhere between 6 months to 1 year. This course is available in part time as well as full time formats.
9 AME (AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE ENGINEERING)
AME is a 3 years long technical training course.

The admission procedure is online. You must start preparing for the admission before six to ten months of the planned intake. If you are planning to study in Canada, then start searching for universities, where you would like to study. Check the fee structure of the colleges, IELTS requirement, class 12th percentage requirements etc. You can apply to some universities, while you are appearing for class 12th, but some universities will allow you to apply only after your class 12th is over. In addition, you must write a personal statement and also get LOR from your teachers. These things are written on universities websites, you have to go through it and apply. Email them for further queries.

It all depends upon whether you wish to make a career in military aviation or commercial aviation, besides the fact that you are medically fit and have passed Class 12 with Mathematics and Physics. In the case of Military Aviation (Indian Air Force / Indian Navy - Air Arm / Indian Army - Aviation Corp), you could choose the NDA (National Defence Academy) path towards fulfilling your dream in any of our 3 military forces. Alternatively, in case you pursue a Bachelors degree in Engineering or Physics or Mathematics, you have the option of joining the Indian Air Force or Indian Navy. For the Indian Army, one needs to be a university graduate. However, the degree can be from any stream. As far as commercial aviation is concerned, you can enrol for the Bachelor of Science (Aviation) degree programme from the University of Mumbai. It's a 3-year degree programme for career-oriented pilots. Con-currently, you will have to commence flying training, either in India or abroad (any ICAO contracting nation) towards your Commercial Pilot License and clear the DGCA Pilot License exams.
