Hi,
No it is not mandatory. A graduation degree in a relevant discipline is the minimum requirement. IAS is open to doctors, engineers, lawyers, etc.
You'll be given a choice to select optional subjects while applying for Civil Services.
You have not shared your academic details. However, there are several factors that need to be considered before choosing a particular stream after Class 12.
This is because the chosen stream would determine which path your career would take and the two main factors that should be taken into note while choosing a stream are:
Aptitude of the student
Personal Interests
Options for you-
Science Stream-
B.E/B.TECH

There are chances that you will get some college around Ghaziabad. But still you keep all your options open. There are many universities like Amity, SRM, LPU etc that take into consideration both the marks in 12th as well as UPTU. Not only this they are offering scholarships to students on the basis of either of the two.
All these universities have world class infrastructure and offering a whole lot of facilities to students for their all round development. They are taking special care to prepare their students for placements too.
Good luck.
