Since you are from the software background, I would recommend you to opt for MBA in IT/ITES, as this would help you enhance your IT skills and at the same time, help you achieve managerial skills and knowledge. Doing from the distance mode is fine, but nothing can beat the accreditation of the regular program. Doing a regular program from a reputed institute will be worth the time and money invested for your career. Wish you good luck !

As guided by MSK70515 you can either go with 1-2 years work which can return you real life experience and can take appropriate choice in deciding your choice.
Or if you wish to go for MBA right after your graduation BBA then prepare entrance CAT, MAT, GMAT etc, crack any of the entrance mentioned which can assure you an entrance to good B-School.
The choice of going for work experience is purely depend on you and its not compulsory.
