Lincoln University started in 1854 as The Ashmun Institute. Founded in 1919, Oakland's private Lincoln University provides research and higher education. Chartered in California, the institution was established in 1926 and bears President Abraham's name. The campus was moved to Oakland in 1999, while the company's original headquarters remained in San Francisco. It is connected to the International Quality Group (CIQG) of the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). It is also affiliated with the Institute of International Education (IIE) (CAPPS) and the California Association of Private Postsecondary Schools.

The Lincoln University requires international students to keep their registration papers with them. These papers include I-20 visas, passports, and documents about their F-1 status. Getting a score of 5.5 on the IELTS exam is considered as an avergae score, however to get admission in the  Lincoln University in the USA, it might not be enough to meet the admission requirements. The university needs a minimum IELTS overall band score of 5.5 for admission to BA and BS programs.

Apart from IELTS, the other requirements are as follows -

As per student reviews, to be able to secure an admission in US universities, an IELTS score of 5.5 will not be sufficient. The minimum IELTS score required for a US student visa is 6.5. However, there may be some universities that accept scores between 5.5 and 6.5. You will need to research for that.

1. International Student Merit Scholarship:

   • This scholarship is meant for new students starting at the university.
   • A student requires at least a 3.30 GPA and a minimum SAT score of 1020 or ACT score of 20 to qualify for this scholarship.

2. International Scholars Scholarship:

   • The International Scholars Scholarship is given out yearly to 10 new students.
   • Requires an SAT score of 1000 or higher and a high school GPA of 3.3 or higher.
   • This schoplarship covers all tuition and fees.

3. Undergraduate Scholarships:

   • A student needs a GPA of 3.0 or higher and complete 27 credit hours in each academic year.
   • Scholarships are either $3250 per semester or $2000 per semester.

To get into Lincoln University, you also need to:
