To join Merchant Navy, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) are required in 12th and most colleges require a minimum of 60% marks. If you have scored less in 12th, some options are still open:

Take Improvement Exam (next year) and improve your marks to get eligibility.

Some private maritime institutes also take those with 40–50% marks—but their placement is not that strong.

Alternative: You can do GP Rating Course (General Purpose Rating), for which eligibility is a little less (10th/12th pass with 40%+).

Once you get entry in Merchant Navy, you can grow later with experience.

If you're taking a partial drop for NEET, prefer a government college if you get a decent course, as it's affordable and recognized. But if you don't get any government seat, choose a reputed private college with reasonable fees and good faculty. Balance your study time and college schedule wisely to focus on improving your NEET score.
