- If you plan to go in Aug '13 you will need to submit applications by end of Dec '12 or around mid of Jan '13 (this is when most of the second round application deadlines are)
- It normally takes 2-2.5 months to write good applications, essays etc
- So you should be done with your GMAT by max mid of Sep '12
- Which means you should start preparing for it right now :), since it takes about 2 months to prepare well

Now a days These Specialized Degrees are also not giving top quality job. Through Degree now a days u will not get practical knowledge which is going on in industry. Eligibility for Master In Physics is
A Candidate should passed B.sc degree from any recognized university
At least 55% aggregate marks
For General and OBC category candidates and at least 50% aggregate marks
For SC/ST and PD category candidates in the qualifying degree.

You can go for both
both is good for career
if you have interest in MBA then go for MBA or else M.Tech is also good
as you said that you will do in distance MBA
because MBA will give you a practical knowledge of management
after a job if you think about business then that time MBA will help you
