We recommend for Amit, to a less reputed college in Delhi.
However, in case you got are expecting 85 .you should be able to make into the Venky college, Bhagat singh college etc., in the 2nd or third list.
You can make it to Dyal Singh College.in second list.as it is honours.DU is always better.and in the degree falls into the 'A' rank universities in India.
Some of the good colleges in Delhi are:
# Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College
# Delhi College of Arts & Commerce
# Deshbandhu College
#Dyal Singh College
# Moti Lal Nehru College
# P.G.D.A.V. College
# Ramjas College
# Shaheed Bhagat Singh College
# Shri Ram College of Commerce
# Sri Aurbin

The JEE mains %age is showing you could go for NIT's, VIT's, BIT's but the prospect of admission depends on this year criteria.

Comparison of institutes can be done on many basis like Infra, Education, Brand, Placements, Environment, Industrial exposure etc
In general, both are goods but if you ask the expert every one will agree that VIT vellor is much better .
