Career Prospects after B.Sc. For B.Sc. Honours course, career prospects in terms of job opportunities depend on the specialisation a student opts for. For instance, students with a degree in B.Sc. (Honours) Physics can apply for a job as a financial analyst, lab technician, etc. Whereas students with a degree in B.Sc. (Honours) Chemistry can apply for a job in sectors such as medical research, laboratories, utility companies, technical journals, etc. Students pursuing a degree in B.Sc. General course can apply for a job in fields such as teaching, banking, and marketing. It may be noted that there are many job prospects for students pursuing B.Sc. Honours and B.Sc. General courses in both Science and non-Science fields. However, it is recommended for students to pursue a Masters programme after getting their Bachelor of Science degree to get better-profile and higher salaried jobs in their respective fields. Admission is through counseling based on the rank obtained in Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT-CET 2017) conducted by the Competent Authority or rank obtained in JEE (Mains) 2017 conducted by the Competent Authority.
MIT sees JEE marks. Since by MHTCET 15% seats of colleges are filled via JEE score. I cannot predict cutoff for JEE as this year you have CET score considered. As many students outside Maharashtra apply for MIT the jee cutoffs would be higher comparatively.
Here your admission depends on which branch you want and your category. If you are from general category then I don't think you will get either of CS,Mechanical or Electrical. It depends on what rank you get in rank list prepared by Maharashtra government. Generally the cutoff ranks for CS, Electrical and Mechanical at MIT are below 3000. One of my friends rank in 2015 was around 2700 and he was getting only Mechanical at MIT. He studied in Maharashtra state board. One of my friend from Maharashtra who studied in CBSE had JEE mains score 176 and board percentage of 92.4% or 92.6% and his rank in list was in 5000. You can imagine yourself where you stand according to these stats.

In my view, at this rank it is difficult to get any branch at any college among NIT's or IIIT's. But if you are from home quota of some North-East or Northern NIT's or IIIT's then you have a good chance. Check their cutoffs if you are applicable. I would suggest that bad rank in JEE Mains is usually due to bad score in Board. If you are having such case then consider applying to the institutes which give admission only on JEE main score and not rank. Some of such institutes include:
1. IIIT Hyderabad
2. IIIT Bangalore
3. IIIT Bhubaneswar
4. Thapar University
5. LNMIIT
6. JAYPEE NOIDA (Private)
7. UIET CHANDIGARH (Private)
8. UPES DEHRADUN (Private)
9. Galgotia University (Private)These are some really good institutions to opt for if you are having at least a good score in JEE Mains. Hope this helps. And if you have money then you can try to get admission in private colleges like VIT and Manipal which would provide you with complete opportunities to achieve your dreams. One of my friend scored 70 in JEE Mains 2016 with 75% in boards. Also, he was of OBC category. He managed to get electrical branch in a government college, but the standard of college is not good.
