Hi Hashika,
In April, 2014, Gross Salary of a newly recruited IAS officer posted at a metro will be around Rs. 55,000/- pm (with a break of Rs 21000 as Basic and Grade Pay, DA at 100% to be Rs 21000; HRA at 30% for posting in a metro i.e. Rs6300, and Rs 6400 for transport allowance including DA on this allowance). However, if he is allotted official house at the place of posting and is given a vehicle for his official use, the gross salary will be around Rs 42,000 pm.
Later on IAS officers are promoted to following scales :-
(a) Senior Time scale: After few years experience, IAS are promoted to this scale, which is
Rs.15600-39100 with 6600
