The KSOU does not have a AICTE approval,but this university is approved by UGC & DEC
AICTE stands for All Indian Council for Technical Education.
As the name suggests,it is a body that approves technical education,like BBA,BCA,MCA,B.TECH.Now,you must have idea about the fact that a college either conducts technical education or non technical education,like a college conducts either B.TECH,M.TECH,MBA(Technical Education) or B.SC,M.SC,B.A etc(non technical education).
Now as mentioned above AICTE approval is necessary for technical studies ,that is colleges that are conducting technical education.But a college that conducts non technical does not need AICTE approval.
Now a university is such a body that conducts both types of education,technical and non technical,hence a university does not need the approval of AICTE,but a UGC approval is must and if the university is a distance university,then approval from DEC(Distance Education Council) is necessary.KSOU is also a university,not a college,hence if it does not have AICTE approval,it is not a problem.
